| A tree falls down and is swept downriver until it reaches the Freshford Mill weir where it gets stuck. Before the river reaches the mill there is a relatively slow section (from the weir at Iford) so it demonstrates just how powerful the river is to sweep this tree along. |

| with aging trees and ground that has become very soft these two trees have fallen across the river. That will no doubt become a tempting bridge for youngsters, and me! until it is removed. Further down stream another tree has come down across the river. I don't know whether the number of trees that have died or have fallen only to die is a predictable number or not, but. there are a lot of sections of woodland that have large gaps that will take many years to fill. |
